Movies similar to 12 years a Slave and Django Unchained?

There are tons of movies on black slavery in America but not all of them are as intense and thrilling as the ones I have mentioned above. These two movies just blew my mind. What are some other movies that are as close as it gets?

Roots is another fictionalized depiction of slavery. Might want to check that one out.

There's also Amistad (1997).

But you set the bar really high with 12 Years A Slave and Django Unchained. It's very hard for other movies to compete.

"Glory" is quite good, more about black soldiers during the Civil War but has aspects of slavery.
