Is The Italian-American Mafia Still A Force?

We don't really hear about them much. The RICOH Act seems to have crippled over the years and there is also growing competition from other crime syndicates, especially in traditional Italian-American areas.....

I'd like to hear from any Americans on here who may have real insight around this question.

Without Googling I'll say, yes. But to what extent, I don't know (don't have especial insight). I still look at the NYC newspapers even though I moved out over eight years ago. Every once in a while there will be a story on some Italian-American mobster or mafia as a whole.

Yes

Oh yeah? I'm not talking about that pygmy thing in New Jersey, I'm talking about the real Italian-American Mafia.

There's no such thing as mafia.

Still have rackets, still probably control some unions, no longer control the judges & politicians like they once did, is what I've been hearing.
