What's the saddest movie ending for you?

For me, it's gotta be Atonement (2007). Without giving away anything, that ending genuinely made me sad for a bunch of fictional characters.

It honestly broke my heart.

For me recently, that would be Bedeviled (2010) now only searchable by 'Kim Bok-nam salinsageonui jeonmal'. The ending just had me and my two friends crying our eyes out.

I forgot to mention Castaway (2000). We all know the scene. That tore me up. I cannot watch that movie again.

To me, that is the most heart wrenching scene in any movie, but I think the ending is upbeat.

The ending to "The Notebook" made me cry. I have refused to watch it ever since.

Star Trek II. My favorite Trek character dies. I was a kid when I saw it, so didn't pick up on the things hinting that they would bring him back.
