Tcrum wins with Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), an amazing movie from India about a mother who is woken by a phone call in the middle of the night to discover that her son has been murdered. As she tries to unravel the mystery of what led to his death, she is drawn more and more into the radical politics of 1970s India. Highly underrated film and I can't recommend it strongly enough. See it if you can.
