How is it that disclaimers like these absolve a website of all copyright infringment laws?

Cinehub is not hosting or uploading any copyrighted content or media of any kind, we only store links to third-party websites that carry their own legal responsibility for their content.

Is there really nothing that companies can do to take these websites down?

Why do you care?

Do you produce films and control a massive movie library of stuff that people are posting free of charge?

how do these sites make money?

Ads probably. I used to use one called MovieBox years ago. Sure, it was free & so were all the tv shows & films on there

But it did have a bunch of pop-up ads.

Does it really? I don't think so.

In truth, it's not the disclaimer but the fact that it is third parties who are hosting the infringing material that absolves them. Copyright law hasn't been updated for the 21st century and the early internet laws were set up to protect website owners from user submitted content that violated some law.

Okay then.

I will tell the group one thing,
this topic disgusts me and I absolutely did NOT save a link in my favorites for later research.
