Do you think a woman can rape a man?

So there was something on r/AskReddit about a guy that was raped by a girl at a party. I've also seen similar stories in other places on the internet.

One consistency in these stories is that when these guys try to open up to his friends & family about what has happened to him- the responses are very negative and he gets no support.

Overwhelmingly, other men tend to respond with something along the line of "don't be such a pussy". And that he should have enjoyed it.

Women seem to get very angry at the very thought that it is even possible that a woman can rape a man. They tend to accuse the guy of making shit up- and flat out being a liar.

Do you have any thoughts on this?

Are we talking about anal rape?

No. Not possible.

That guy was either an idiot or gay. And she didn't actually rape him, just climbed on top of him. Being on top of someone is NOT rape. You have to be aroused to have sex, so if you do not want to, no woman can make you become aroused.

How about prison rape or "man-on-man" rape? Especially when the perpetrator had a wife and kids outside the prison? Yet they rape other men in prison.

reply

Man on man rape is totally possible, even prevalent. The man being raped does not have to be aroused.

😎

reply

But the man doing the rape is aroused? Doesn't that make him gay or at least bi? Especially if he has a wife/kids outside.

reply

He would have to be to get it in there, would he not? And yeah, that definitely makes him gay or bi!

reply

It's amazing that man-on-man rape is considered "not gay" in prison by the inmates. They're straight outside prison yet they have sex with other dudes inside.

reply

Eeewww! I have absolutely no knowledge about that, nor do I want any.

Realistically i think there are only a few limited scenarios where it's plausible. The guy would pretty much have to be drugged, restrained, or overpowered in some way, making it difficult or impossible for him to physically remove himself from the situation. But in one of those few scenarios, if the dude is saying no and she ignores him, then yes. A woman can rape a man.

It doesn't matter if he's physically aroused at the time, either. I think a lot of people might get hung up on that. Arousal is an involuntary response, and doesn't amount to consent.

reply

Or if he is underaged, temporarily or permanently incapacitated, or otherwise unable to give legally valid consent.

YES WOMEN CAN RAPE MEN...I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I SAW 1994'S DISCLOSURE.https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109635/

There ya go!

Force/coercion + unwanted sex = rape

Simple formula. No genders required.

reply

Society seems to find it comical when a man gets raped. Either by either another man or woman.

reply

Yes, most definitely yes.

I think it's really sad that this question needs to be asked. No, means no. It doesn't matter your sex or gender. Rape is rape.

People tend to call most victims of rape by someone who they don't think could be guilty liars.

reply

What are your thoughts about "statutory rape" then? What if "victim" is 15 years old and the perpetrator is 30? Both freely consent.

reply

The answer is in the term "statutory rape".

reply

Statutory rape is statutory rape.
