I've always liked the moment in a Few Good Men when Lt. Kaffee is in the bar with Capt. Ross, regarding the court proceedings. They're having a personal convo too, and when Kaffee realizes he's losing in court, he says: "You're a lousy fucking softball player, Jack!" I dig it.
shareThe first thing that comes to mind is an "All in the Family" episode. Season 4 Episode 8. IMDb summarizes it: "Mike refuses to accept constructive criticism during a group therapy board game." I never forgot this. Mike sees himself as such a SJW that he is stunned to receive any criticism about himself, and flips the (fictional) board game "copout" over and storms up to his room like a child.

I disagee with this entirely, and I've always hated that episode because it fights dirty pool. Mike wasn't upset because he was a sore loser and being criticized. He was upset because they were ganging up on him and using what was supposed to be a fun game to air their grievances. There's nothing wrong with criticizing someone. It's how you do it that is the problem. He felt ambushed, which he was, like when a celebrity goes onto a lighthearted talk show to promote a movie and then starts getting grilled over something that he or she said (Tom Selleck).
Another reason why I disliked the episode is that it was a clear case of pandering. The show up until that moment always criticized Mike, especially when it came to him being a chauvinist. He was never portrayed as always in the right. So having an episode where the entire cast piles on him felt disingenuous, like people were writing letters to Norman Lear whining about why the show was always attacking Archie, so the writers made this episode to shut them up.
