The Snake Pit (1948)

Better still the first season of ' In Treatment ' (2008) is outstanding.

Not really. I don't think any movie has really done the subject justice, although there have been some enjoyable ones. However, I would recommend the TV series, Starved (2005). Funny, interesting and quite poignant at times.
