The last NEW show I got caught up in was probably Smallville back in the early 2000s. Everything in the last 15 years or so has been older. The breakout series of 2020 for me is probably The Big Valley.

Unbalanced is the best word I have for it. Coleman and Bonham-Carter were great, Emma Corrin was a good physical match for Diana at least, but I had major issues with Gillian Anderson as Thatcher. Hers was more a parody than a performance for me. I also took issue with the demonisation of the Charles and Camilla relationship while Diana’s indiscretions were hardly covered at all.
Pretty soapy really. I’d rate it a weak 2.5/5
