I feel like this form of self racism needs discussion.
Example, most black celebrities will choose a lighter skinned partner and breed with them. This is racism. It means that whitening their descendants is a positive thing in their heads.
Props to Obama for doing the opposite. One of the few famous men of colour with a darker wife.

shareit usually is a positive thing, but its due to the social construct placed upon white skin and not because of innate superiority. People with white skin or fair skin deal with far less social repercussions or psychological issues that result from racism, discrimination or favoritism. Having white skin means more power to get people to side with you, having your opinions heard more, less undermining, undeserved level of attention, or just having someone strike up a conversation with you out in public without having to show any real status (circle of friends, income level measures, or even just looking good). It's no coincidence that while immigrants, on average, are more educated than white people, white people are still able to be racist toward them and get away with it under alot of circumstances (unless its recorded). This is the power of having white skin. Hell, I was listening to a speech given on Ted talks awhile back by a highly educated immigrant who relayed his experience once while he was doing an exam. An old white guy sitting next to him asked him what his goals were, and the immigrant told him. The white guy straight up told him that no matter how hard he tried to improve himself and better himself compared to him, he would never be better than him because of THIS, and pointed to his skin. So there you have it, even racists realize the social power associated with 'whiteness'.

And also, it was CERTAIN white people, the 1%ers that "earned" their esteemed position (mostly by exploiting resources from other countries and killing off natives). The trailer hick or the fat karen don't have the brains or ability to get to that point, and so ideally shouldn't get that level of respect compared to the immigrant that is more successful then them. The only reason they do is because of white privilege which they use at every turn, because they're nothing but racists who are useless at everything else in life
