Have you ever seen the same movie twice in the same day?

I've never done it, but I have seen it once on consecutive days.

reply

Deadpool, Logan, The Princess Bride and Conan (82) as far as I can recall but probably a few others

It would have to be a really great one though

reply

Were any on your first ever viewings?

reply

Yes, Logan
That one blew me away (I was a huge X-Men comic fan as a kid and still have boxes of them so it hit pretty hard)

reply

AS A KID,PRINCESS BRIDE WAS ALWAYS A REPEAT VIEWER...AS AN ADULT,LOGAN AND DEADPOOL I BELIEVE I RAN BACK FROM THE BEGINNING ON BOTH THOSE AS WELL....YOU AND CONAN,LMAO.

reply

I remember watching Ghostbusters with my friends and we just stayed to watch it again for free.

reply

I'm almost scared to ask which Ghostbusters you saw.

reply

1984 LOL
2016 would be torture.

reply

2016...Once was enough!

reply

I remember watching dude where's my car? For the first time when I got it on DVD and when it finished we just played it again. Me and my brother were ten years old at the time though. That's the last time I remember watching a movie twice in the same day.

If you were 10, you have an excuse for watching that twice, let alone the same day.

reply

I watched it recently, still holds up. But it might be nostalgia.

reply

AND THEN?

reply

No and then.

reply

i have not

reply

I have watched "Cool Runnings" 4 times in one day.

reply

That's crazy.

reply

This was years and years ago. It was the day after I had been out drinking (for the first time ever) and I thought I was going to die. I spent the day, shaking, drinking soup and watching Cool Runnings. It got me through some hard times 😁

reply

wow

reply

GREAT MOVIE...JUST RECENTLY REWATCHED IT...VERY ENTERTAINING.

reply

Lawd yes. I once watched Taken 3 times in a row. First time I was so into it then the cable went down right before the "we can negoti.... It came on again and I watched it till the end. I loved it so much watched it again after. Haha. Iono why hbo had it on 3 times that night.

reply

I saw Taken twice a week apart. I don't do that often. Great action movie.

reply

The Sixth Sense. I was so blown away with the twist that I immidiately watched it again. Knowing the ending, the second viewing was totally a different experience. So good.

reply

Lucky you, someone spoiled the twist for me.

reply

Same.

reply

if we count concert films, then i've watched stop making sense twice in a day for sure.

back in the vhs days, i know i rented evil dead and watched it two or three times a day.

reply

I actually saw the entire trilogy in one day a few months ago.

reply

ah, i should have done that for halloween this year. i'll book a reminder into my calendar to do that next year.

have you watched the series? it's on my 'some day' list....

reply

I've seen every episode. I was extremely disappointed with it. I only continued because it was Evil Dead and it was a continuing story from the original.

reply

that's a drag. it seems to have received pretty decent reviews, for whatever that's worth. i think i'm going to work my way through rick & morty next, but maybe i'll try dipping my toe into ash... after that.

if i do, i'll report back...

reply

I guess you should still watch it because I'm in the minority and everyone else loves it. I felt they turned Ash into an unlikable jerk.

reply

i've watched the first 5 episodes of ash... over the past week, & i've mostly enjoyed it quite a bit. it's no replacement for the movies, but it's nice to be able to spend time in that world again, & all the episodes have gone down very easily so far.

my only real beef with it so far is lucy lawless, who always annoys me. but she hasn't been a major part of the show so far.

reply

Do you like what they did to Ash? I don't like how they turned him into a drug addict who treats women like shit.

reply

drug addict? maybe i missed something (i tend to kinda half watch tv shows at times...), but i didn't pick up on that at all.

& his personality, the way he approaches women in particular, seems pretty much in line with the way his character was shown in army of darkness...he's a dim goof who has an absurdly inflated opinion of himself. he doesn't really seem that different to me.

reply

There was a scene early on in episode 1 or 2 where he's doing lines of coke. If I recall, he either was having sex with a prostitute or just finished having sex with her.

In the movies, Ash was a little sexist. He'd say things like "toots", but he was still likable. I never got the feeling that he was just pick up random women and have sex with them.

reply

i guess i'd say the character as he's shown is pretty much exactly as how i'd expected ash to be living 30 years later. still working retail, middle aged but still deluded enough in his self-regard to think he can make a play for his annoyingly hot co-worker, & absolutely down for trolling bars to pick up bar skanks.

it all makes sense to me!

reply

As I said before, I'm in the minority. People love the show. I would never watch it again but I can watch the films any time of day.

reply

I loved the show. Season 2 was probably the weakest, but I really had no problem with anything about the show. I thought the series premiere and series finale were on par with the movies.
