So who was in the wrong here? The man or the woman? (short video)

shareSo during the time of Covid she spits in a guys face?
shareHe was right. You spit to some unknown stranger out of the blue, you'd be lucky if all he does is to push you out of the bus.
shareEspecially in the time of COVID. She's lucky she wasn't on the receiving end of a devestating Mortal Kombat-inspired uppercut to the jaw. She was merely "shoved".
shareIf it would have been a guy, that's probably that would have happened.
She was actually gender-privileged. She didn't get punched.
The woman was in the right... because obviously this is a conflict that escalated enough for someone to be recorded before she spat on the man.
That they don't show the escalation means it looks worse for the man than the woman.
they're both wrong.
she's wrong for being on the bus without a mask in the first place. i'm not sure why she would have been allowed on, so that's on the operator, too.
& what she did was disgusting, obviously.
she's lucky that all he did was push her.
he shouldn't have pushed her, but it's understandable.
so if we're tallying up the moral stains in this situation, she comes out much, much worse, at least from what we can see here.
Do you really need to ask? No sympathy for the woman.
In this day and age, she's lucky he only shoved her. He could have SHOT HER!
This is tough because we don't see the whole interaction but it is a criminal offence to spit on someone in Canada. Section 265 and 266 of the Canadian Criminal Code define spitting on someone as an assault, so technically she did assault him first.
I don't think that he was right to push her either.
I think they are both wrong.
So, if someone spits in your face, you would just sit there?
shareMost likely not. I most likely would have done something similar.
I was considering more what I think our laws are. I would have liked to have seen the entire build up to the spitting, but like I said, she assaulted him first in this video. I think she deserved what she got, but that doesn't mean that negates his assault on her. Was it justified? Grey area, and one I would leave up to the lawyers to argue if it came to that. It would be an interesting case to argue.
If we are just talking about me, and no real regard for the law, I think she got off easy.
Videos like this are contributing to the division in our society, exactly what the establishment wants.
