CONSUMERISM IS THE BIGGEST PANDEMIC ON EARTH
MOST DAMAGING
shareyeah , i thought it was great when covid slowed the world down to a more sensible pace.
Apparently consuming less is "bad" for some reason though
who ever told you apparently consuming less is "bad" is stupid IGNORE. wear the same stuff for 20 years second hand shops just bin stuff half the time so WHO CARES. I care for Earths FUTURE and hope we all do
shareright on man. I totally agree.
The Tee i have on now is ten years old, i know cos i remember which holiday i got it on.
All my furniture is second hand, makes you wonder why people were selling / giving it away when theres nothing wrong with it.
Some people just like to ikea of a weekend and buy shit, then the next day go and dump the shit that yesterdays shop replaced . and on and on round and round.
sweet! I like your style brother!
shareItβs only bad for the growth economy (which seems to be a constant drive, which IS bad) and those who want to make money all the time, which is unnecessary.
shareConsumerism IS completely evil π£
Permanent growth IS stupid π€¦πΌββοΈ
Modern human life IS unsustainable π
And it's caused by:
1. Corporate-dominated capitalism. Pure evil. We need a free-market supply-and-demand based economy, one in which small businesses and family-owned shops can also thrive.
2. The concept of "planned obsolescence." Why build a quality product that lasts for years? The corporations make more in sales when consumers have to replace an appliance every two years.
3. The advertising industry, which creates false "needs." Wanna be cool? You absolutely must buy this latest gadget!
People need to start doing their own thinking.
You high, bro?

Economy needs consumerism culture to thrive because if people start settling for less the model of competitive capitalism crumbles and if big companies start losing money, production stops and people start losing jobs. Consumerism is bad but it is still better than socialism.
sharemaybe we should just be more environmentally friendly
shareYeah we need to change our mindsets completely and become more enlightened as a human race. Since that will not happen easily we need laws to regulate the production to be environmentally healthy to force the big companies into investing into recycling and biodegradable plastic.
shareyes yes yes! I know that in Australia Doctors are recommending Governments be very KIND to the environment.... I believe then people will just follow we like sheeple sometimes
