Paul Giamatti is an awesome actor who doesn’t quite get enough recognition
Let’s hear it for him
shareLet’s hear it for him
shareHis career took off after Sideways, and he has been in every single movie since.
shareHe’s a natural, like Phillip Seymour Hoffman just steals every scene he’s in
shareAndre Braugher steals his thunder in Duets, 2000

i haven't seen him in much lately.
shareHe's right where he needs to be. At the top of the list for suitable character roles and the occasional lead, but not so famous that he's lost his ability to vanish into a role.
Top character actors have a good life, the best of anyone in the acting profession. They get paid tons of money, their work is interesting, and they suffer none of the inconveniences of fame.
You hit the nail on the head
And yes, Giamatti is terrific in his character/supporting roles and I'd see a movie with him in it just as soon as rush out to catch Leo, Bale or Pitt
I try to watch the entire John Adams mini-series every year around the 4th. I applaud him.
shareI like him. He was terrific in John Adams. First became aware of him in Man on the Moon, though I'd seen him in a couple of small roles before that. American Splendor made him a name. I was a fan of Billions until this season which was awful.
shareI wish he had won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance at Joe Gould in Cinderella Man (2005)
Oh well, at least he got nominated.
And I feel that he should have been nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance as Harvey Pekar in American Splendor (2003).
Cinderella man was good. He was fantastic in Barney’s version also. I need to rewatch American splendor. Really liked it but it’s been awhile.
shareI just noticed Paul G in Sabrina with Ford and Ormond, with a relatively full head of hair.
Just seeing him made me smile, especially at such a young age.
Looked like a very small part, and I wasn't watching the movie proper, but yes, it was fun to see Giamatti and I'm a big fan of Sideways.
I enjoyed his performance in Win-Win too.
shareI agree. I've liked him ever since he was Pig Vomit.
