Online reviews of doctors

I saw an ortho today . I need a revision of a prior knee replacement and a total knee on the other. Online reviews of this doctor aren't especially favorable. But then I did some scrolling and found that most reviews, of doctors in general, tend to be negative. Are people just more likely to bash , rather than praise, doctors online? I liked the guy so not sure I should take the complaints too seriously.

I am very skeptical of online reviews in general, and reviews of doctors in particular. Many positive reviews are paid for or fake reviews. Negative reviews can be from one disgruntled angry person. If you really need knee surgery, I would ask doctors or OR nurses. Don’t ask: “is Dr X good?”. They rarely want to criticize anyone, and will probably say yes. Ask them to name 2 or 3 top doctors that they would go to.
