What is your favorite western?
I'm going with a recent western rather than one of the older ones.
"Open Range" (2003) The story is straight forward and the most realistic.
It's not a very popular western but I think it's very good.

shareit's not a genre i've ever really fallen for tbh. there's something in watching sweaty men ride horses & shoot guns that makes all of my 'i'm bored' neurons fire.
i absolutely love bone tomahawk, though that's as much horror as it is western, i guess.
You have never seen High Noon, Stagecoach or The Searchers??
sharei've seen high noon & the searchers. high noon fairly recently, the searchers a good 25 years ago. & i've seen a good handful of other classics - high plains drifter, once upon a time in the west, things like that.
and i certainly wouldn't ever try to claim that they're not great or anything.
but i never seem to get on their wavelength, and as soon as they're over, they fall out of my head and i never think about them again, and i never really want to see them again.
i'm sure that's my failing and my loss.
