Neither band was anything very special but they did have some catchy hits...I don't really get the hate either
Nickleback and Creed are two of the worst bands in history
Creed had a couple good songs, but nickleback was just bad.
I can think of plenty of worse bands than Creed and Nickelback. Like all those dime-a-dozen borecore indie rock bands or electronic indie pop music bands or any band that makes country music. Or several bands that made music in the 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's that are only remembered because they are old.
And I'd much rather listen to Creed and Nickelback than anything by The Strokes.
I actually have a special memory if creed. I was at edge fest back when that was a thing. They did a set on a side stage when they were brand new. I thought they rocked. Make no mistake, Scott stapp is an absolute dill hole.
