sharei'm a big fan, think they're funny & clever & pretty insightful, more so than most professional blue checkmark rt-accredited reviewers. i like them so much, it actually slightly wounds me when they hate something i actually like quite a bit.
i listen to an rlm review/episode almost every night as i'm falling asleep, though i always try to make sure it's one that's rich evans-free so his awful, piercing laugh won't jolt me awake.
I lost respect for them when they invited Max Landis onto the show, trashed George Lucas' legacy and then put out that crap movie they did at the peak of their popularity. They have no integrity or balls.

They never enjoyed Landis' work. They trashed his writing, then wussed out when he contacted them and begged to be on the show. Afterward, they gave him a platform to whine about how his movies always tank because of "the studio system", and all of a sudden he was considered a "decent" writer and they were even saying that the shitty Frankenstein movie that he wrote was oh, so witty and cool.
They always do that when a person they make fun of contacts them. There was one other guy (forget his name, but blonde guy with ponytail who's into karate) who they did the same thing to. They spent several episodes calling him a hack and such. He contacted the show and all of a sudden, they were best buddies and they invited him to do one of their "worst movies" segments.
As for George Lucas, they started that nonsense about how he was a completely untalented hack who took credit for everyone else's work. People can hate the prequels all they wanted but Lucas was a visionary who singlehandedly transformed cinema with Industrial Light and Magic and pioneered most of the modern day CGI effects that we take for granted. It's just plain evil and wrong for people to trash his entire legacy as a filmmaking legend because they didn't like the prequels.
By peak popularity, I mean just after the last of the Harry Plinkett reviews.

UH,NO HE DIDNT...HE WAS THE BOSS OF THE TECHS AND COMPUTER DUDES WHO DID THAT STUFF.
I think you might be taking this all a little too seriously... They never lost a sense of irony regarding the various hack figures they've had on the show after making fun of them. It's just how it goes that once you know someone personally that relationship becomes its own thing regardless of what you think of their work. You can be friends with someone who you also think is a hack. You'll notice they joke with these guys about their work all the way along. They themselves are hackfrauds so it's all good.
To say it's evil and wrong to freely express a point of view on a mass pop-culture filmmaker who handily trashed his own legacy seems way incongruous. All this is is a bunch of guys sitting around saying what they think about things and taking the piss. It's lighthearted.
And they've been knowingly putting out crap movies from the get go, that's how RLM started.

i don't know if it's their greatest episode, but the one they did with patton oswalt where mike was so baked or drunk that he couldn't remember the word 'apartment' truly made me laugh my ass off.
