Do you usually say "excuse me"?

You have people who almost always say it, and people who almost never say it.

For me, it might depend on where I'm at.
I seem to rarely say it at a hardware store.

This makes me think it comes down to gender.
I think I'm much more likely to say it if I'm passing by a dame, rather than a man.

reply

yes

reply

I'm Canadian. Excuse me, pardon me, and sorry are deeply ingrained in our speech.

reply

If the situation requires it.

reply

I use a forearm shiver instead

reply

I do I do..when I'm trying to pass by someone of any gender or no gender
I say "pardon me" when I don't catch what someone said..

Curious what people say otherwise.."move".."get out of my way, would ya" ?

reply

Sometimes I say "move yo bitch ass".
Works every time. 😀

reply

Yeah, mostly to be polite, but more because the opportunity presents itself a lot. People seem to be lost in thought much more these days and so they often, unintentionally or not, put themselves in my way.

reply

I say it all the time.

I love being polite and people love it too.

If I'm not in a hurry, I will let people go in front of me in line, and all kinds of stuff.

I find it fun.
