Why the hell does customer service always ask for some long account or order number as if you have that readily available??

I hate that shit, who the fuck has their 14 digit account number that they didn’t even know existed for an account they almost never have to look at or accesss memorized?? Same thing with an online order, why the hell wouldn’t they just ask for your name or phone number? Even if you have a common name that would at least narrow it down to a few accounts. Much easier and saves time and hassle. Fucking idiots.

I KNEW HE HANDLED A LOT OF PACKAGES...I DIDNT KNOW HE WORKED AT THE POST OFFICE THOUGH...COOL.

Wait a *bleeping* second...

Customer service never, ever, ever is supposed to ask you for your account number because generally, they don't have that on file. Your name, number and sometimes DOB should suffice. Are you you're not getting phished? Usually, for me it's a gigantic red flag I'm being phished if they want your account number.
