Morocco here we come! 🇲🇦

It’s half term, so we’re off to Marrakesh for a week. Currently sat in the biz lounge having breakfast. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Made it to Le Meridian Nifs Hotel. Getting a taxi was interesting (everybody shouts at each other here). Moroccan money is a closed currency, meaning you can’t get it outside of Morocco, so I’ve got a stash at the airport 12.5 Diram to the pound, so not too difficult to calculate costs. Early night tonight and chill by the pool tomorrow.

Enjoy your evening and good luck with the assassination of that super villain guy tomorrow, I wont let on

The misses and little one fancy a snack, so checking out the hotel bar and having a scoop (I’m trying a Casablanca beer).

For breakfast, take some green tea with mint and churros. It's traditional there, and absolutely delicious.

And don't miss eating a Bastilla (pronounced 'bastela')

Top tips!

Did green tea with mint and churros this morning - delicious!

Nice.

Have some pastry too. Moroccan pastry is excellent. Just be sure to handle it with a kleenex or to have a bathroom available to clean your hands (otherwise they'll let you with sticky fingers).

Milkshakes are quite traditional too, though they're more of a summer drink. The one with almonds deserves a try.

And don't miss street markets, the souks. They're lovely.

And visit Fez. The medina deserves a journey. 'Medina' means 'city' in arabic language, but in this case the word refers to the old city.

We noticed a lady in the breakfast hall, kneading dough, baking it and serving it up, so that’ll be tomorrow’s treat.

Had the Bastilla as a starter this evening - yum! Main course was a chicken Tangine - double yum! Decided to have an orange shake as my dessert - triple yum!

I knew a Moroccan guy once, he hit and ran me. I tracked him down though. I never forget a fez....…..
