Have you ever had an office romance?

I did, once upon a time, a hundred years ago. It did not end well. One of my major regrets.

reply

I have never but I could have. I know many who have and most don't work out.

reply

Yes, it's when it doesn't work out that it becomes a problem.

reply

Twice. Both times it didn't work out, but nothing to do with working for the same company. There were no negative consequences.

reply

Lucky for you.

reply

almost, kinda. i won't bore you with the details, but it ended up with me going into therapy! i'm glad it happened though, and it's all a good memory for me, mostly. for her too, i believe. we're still in touch and still friendly.

just running the details through my head, i believe i know five couples who met at work & ended up married. i'm sure there's more i could think of if i put my mind to it. i know this is a minority opinion, but it's never seemed like something to be discouraged to me. work is where you spend most of your day, and people are going to meet and sometimes be compatible. if you think there's something there i'd say go for it.

reply

It really does make sense in terms of work is where you spend a lot of your day, so of course you're going to meet people. It's more about being careful who you get involved with, I guess.

reply

Yes, and it was fine.

The thing ran it's course, and not long after I changed jobs (unrelated).

It's a good memory for me, no regrets at all.

reply

Lucky you. It doesn't always end so happily, unfortunately.

reply

Well I've never worked in an office and have a blue collar job that's 99.99% dudes working. But I have gotten some good poon in the back of the mcdonalds that I worked at when it was just us two closing. Those are some good memories.

reply

You're luckier than most, I suspect.

reply

Quite possibly

reply

Before I worked in a school yes. Now I work with 99% women.

reply

Good point. Where you work and who you work with makes a difference.

reply

Never mix business and pleasure.

reply

Back in my office days, it seemed like I was 24/7. 90% of my romances started in the office.
