Weird given how any possible crash would do more than compromise family time.

Yes but car crashes are usually not fatal.

Your odds of dying in a car crash are infinitely more likely than dying in a helicopter crash.

True, but if roads are wet and visibility is down, you can at least slow down, mitigating your chances of death should you crash.

Yeah I know an engineer who builds helicopters and he said he would never ever actually get on one.

Pretty soon the helicopter noise in NYC and LA will be unbearable.

They are noisey and will even drown out your conversation if landing nearby.
