Do you think early afternoon is pretty self explanatory?

I told this woman that the best time to pick up some boxes was early afternoon and she said “what’s early afternoon”- I was really surprised by that.

Between 1 and 3 I'd guess...not too tricky

I was thinking between 12 and 2 as being early, between 2 and 3 mid, and between 3 and 5 late.

12pm - 3pm would what I would consider to be early afternoon, She probably mean't to ask what you consider to be early afternoon as in a more specific time, because technically evening is still apart of the afternoon so she might have thought you meant 12-6.
