Is "Sling Blade" like a whackier, less stable version of "Blind Side"?

Sling Blade is a lot darker, I am not sure if you could call it whacky. The films are unrelated in theme actually.

You're right. The only thing they have in common is that they are both set in the south. 'Sling Blade' is more traditonally southern, I think. In Blind Side, the two Tuohy kids barely have southern accents that you can hear. 'Sling Blade' the little boy had a full southern accent.

True. Except, both set in the south, and have a person being taken in by a kind family.
