What's the worst movie you've seen this year 2019?

And by worst I mean, 'how the hell did this movie ever get made?

And 'these actors can't act!'

Useless script. What's the point of it.

Hard to say, I watch a lot of cheap indy horrors and many of them are terrible:/

As for larger budget movies with decent casts and good production values I'd say...

Mother! (17) Wow, this one was super boring!
The atmosphere, the score, the acting...all pretty good
Just boring, I could not finish it

Triangle (09) Melissa George was wearing Daisy Dukes and heels so I made it to the end but it was otherwise a complete WTH? movie and not in a good way...I have no idea what was going on

like shogun, i watch a lot of low or no budget indie horror, and i don't think it's fair to include things like that on such a list. some of these films are clearly made over the weekend in rural alabama with a cast getting paid in beer, so i don't ask for too much from them.

& not to pick a fight with my buddy shogunofyonkers, but i...actually kinda like both of the films he picked. but we're all entitled to our preferences!

the worst thing i saw this year has to be dennis hopper's 'the last movie.' this is the film that somewhat famously put him in actor/director jail for a good length of time, & having watched it, i'd say that's justified. i don't even mind that it was confusing & incoherent. i can forgive that, but my god it was boring. if you're looking to test the boundaries of the relationships in your life, i'd suggest recommending 'the last movie' to a friend & then see if they'll ever listen to one thing you ever say again.

i also really hated a film that many consider a bit of a classic - 1985's tampopo. lots of people think this is a lovely, warm film, but it disgusted me because it is filled from beginning to end with people eating very, very, very noisily, and i have this internal trigger than simply cannot stand the sound of people eating loudly. it also featured a scene where two people pass a raw egg yolk back & forth by mouth, and that almost made me sick. it took everything i had to watch it to the end.

i also really disliked 'yesterday,' the beatles fan fiction movie that came out recently, but that's probably not fair to include it here. it's not an incompetent film or anything like that. i just thought it was a boring rom-com loaded with banal, toothless beatles covers and simpering, wimpy annoying characters, and its concept could have been used to do something much more original & interesting. it really annoyed & bothered me & i absolutely detested it, but i also think people who like crowd-pleasing feel good films might dig it.

Mouth to mouth raw yolk passing?!?
Please tell me this is not an actual fetish🤮

Re watched King of New York (1990) and it was pretty laughable.
I couldn’t buy into any of it.
The bad guys were stupid. The cops were stupid.
Christopher Walken made it almost bearable

reply

Walken tends to make most crap bearable

I did like the movie silly as it was
