Any movie starring Sam 'The Stache' Elliot can't possibly be bad👍
shareHulk (2003) is also my favorite Hulk movie. I understand why others didn't like it, but I found the story to be much better. The score was great in that film as well.
shareIt sucked.
shareI was really bored by it and some parts of it felt way too dark to enjoy (lighting wise). For me, I liked The Incredible Hulk with Ed Norton much better.
shareI'd say it holds up just about as well as the Sam Raimi Spider-Man films, but definitely not more so and nowhere near as well as The Dark Knight trilogy.
shareAgreed.
One small correction though, 2008 was not a "complete reboot".
They actually used the script for the sequel to 2003.
One of the few changes made was the new origin in the opening credits.
I don't think the film is that good, but I will say that the CGI is shamefully underrated and unappreciated. The texture of his skin and the way they captured his motion is breathtaking. Few CGI characters have the same weight and presence that this Hulk has, and it's such a shame that it frequently appears on "worst CGI ever" lists because of the bad color choice. The new Hulk looks like a video game character that was copied and pasted onto the scene in post; it's weightless and completely artificial, obviously fake. The 2003 Hulk looks and moves like an actual living being and not some rubber computerized creation.
The rest of the movie isn't that good. I'll give it additional points for ambition and some of the casting, but the story is usually incredibly confusing and when it's easy to follow, it's lame and cliche.
"You ARE breathtaking!"
