I always wish I was more a maven of all the 60s and 70s R&B hits I heard back then but didn't figure out all the bands.
It wasn't cool back then, but these songs did stick in my brain.
I lived near Detroit, so Motown came easy, but the whole Philly sound was great but I never learned all the artists as much.

Love Motown & Philly. Lesser known (as a genre) but some good stuff is Chicago Soul like the The Chi-Lites and Curtis Mayfield.
