Anyone remember these guys?

LOL

reply

Of course. Probably the best hair extensions, shoulder pads and lip synching in the history of pop music.

reply

Not to mention, they were first act EVER to return a grammy. How embarrassing. Ever since then, I stopped taking the grammies seriously.

reply

Yes, sad the guy with the blue eyes committed suicide.

Still a great song and they looked good dancing to it.

Sad state of affairs when people value looks over music. Even back then in the 80s. I bet if Milli Vanilli were to exist in today's pop world of autotunes, it wouldn't be much of a scandal (if at all).

Yes, I read that he killed himself. The last few years of his life were a downward spiral. He had drug issues and resorted to a life of crime (theft, assault, etc). Must be difficult and humiliating coping with the fallout knowing the public considered them a joke post-scandal.

Good song. Never did find out who was singing it.

Years ago I saw one of the guys who claimed to be the singer on some tv show about the 90s. A sturdy black guy with a lot less appeal.

Their producer was the same as the guy behind Boney M. Only the main singer of that band actually did any of the singing.

reply

I also liked Blame it on the Rain but I thought it was sung by a completely different guy.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one!

I also like Girl, I'm Gonna Miss You. It's rather cheesy, but whatever!

reply

I love that song! Who cares if they weren't the actual singers?

Their lives were basically ruined, even though they were just being used by music producers. One guy died from an overdose, the other has been trying to rebuild his music career. He did some appearances on Dutch tv a few years ago. He seemed like nice guy.

reply

He sure spent a lot of time chasing and harassing that girl while in my opinion he was clearly way more into that other dude

Aint love grand?

reply

Looks like a typical 80's cheesy, romantic music video.

reply

Busted for lip-syncing in an industry where everyone now lip-syncs.
