My new dentist felt my neck, thyroid, and cheeks during an exam. Do dentists do this? Does your dentist do this?

I've never had a dentist do this to me before. It felt weird. He said he was checking signs of cancer.

You are correct. They are checking for signs of cancer. They've been doing it to me the last few years.

I'm surprised your dentist didn't tell you and just went for it.
