Bored. Looking for something to watch

I like murder mysteries like Wallander, Shetland, Lewis, Endeavour, Inspector Morse, and Hinterland. Anyone have suggestions?

I like documentaries, too. Currently making my way through Ken Burns' Vietnam War series, so I'm open to suggestions like this, too.

I would recommend watching Dirty John on Bravo channel. It airs on Sunday nights at 10 PM but you can watch all the reruns on Comcast OnDemand. It's based on a true story and the show is truly addicting....

reply

Unfortunately, I don't have cable TV so I'll have to skip this one, but thanks!

reply

Not really a mystery series but Ozark is very good
It's a crime series with a great story and very good cast

reply

Added to my watch-list. Thanks!

Sticking with mysteries (which I can't say much about), how 'bout Prime Suspect? Or Poirot. PBS churns out all kinds of mysteries.

reply

I have seen Prime Suspect and liked it. For some reason I've never gotten around to Poirot. I'll have to go through my library on that one since I have only Netflix for TV viewing. Thanks for the suggestions!

reply

Have you ever watched any of the Law & Order franchise?

reply

Just the odd episode here and there, but that was years ago when I still had TV. Now I have only Netflix or my library. It was okay, but not compelling for me.

reply

Have you seen Frasier, Modern Family, or The Big Bang Theory -all great comedies.I also like some of the European tv series like Poirot, Taggart, New Tricks as a few examples.

reply

I'm actually making my way through Frasier, on season 8 now. When it was originally broadcast it was on during my bowling night so I missed most of it. Dang, it is a funny show! I tried Modern Family but didn't care for it. Same with Big Bang Theory. Poirot is on my watch-list. I've heard of Taggert but haven't watched it. My library has it so it's on my list. New Tricks isn't on my Netflix, but my library has it - added to my list. Thanks!

A couple more documentaries; I don't do many mysteries, sorry.

Pike's Peak hillclimb race. Ive been up there a few times. Got a little silly with a rental on the way up, not so much coming back down.

These critters manage to be cute, a bit awesome & creepy all at once.

I'm not sure about the critter one, but I will check out the Pike's Peak hill-climb. Thanks!

Bodyguard (2018) - very intense first 20 minutes, then you’re hooked
Happy Valley - better than Broardchurch imo
Collateral
Prime Suspect series (bit dated, but Helen Mirran was excellent)

reply

Are you talking about Bodyguard the series? Netflix also has a move by the same name.

reply

Bodyguard the series with Richard Madden. Not the cheesy Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston film

reply

An interesting doco is The Imposter. If you're at all interested in the 2008 financial crash Inside Job is an excellent documentary

reply

I've requested both of these from my library. Thanks!

reply

Enjoy

I hear "Paint Dry" is back on as of this year.

reply

Never heard of that one. Tried my library, but no luck. Thanks, though!

reply

Hey check it out, I figured someone wouldve used this title by now: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt7090174/

reply

That would make her catatonic.

reply

Huh??

reply

I thought he was referring to the documentary 'Paint Drying' which literally shows 10 hours of paint drying on a wall. I got them mixed up. 😊😊😊😊

reply

Oh, okay. I thought you were saying that I would be catatonic from watching the actual show. Whew!

reply

Ah yeah, that seems familiar
