What are you listening to?
I'm listening Kurt Vile. Man he's amazing!
sharesia - cheap thrills
shareI never heard of Kurt Vile so i put some on my phone and did chores...not bad and not what i expected!
Just based on his name i figured he was a throwback punk type (which would have been fine with me) but nope, he is sort of folksy and old school
Good stuff

"Orgasm" by Sigue Sigue Sputnik (a song)
sharech ch ch ch ch ch cherry bomb!!!
shareGreat, upbeat song if you're talking about the Mellencamp version. He's got that raspy, soulful sound much like Springsteen. Takes me back to many previous Saturday nights.
shareIt was the all girl punk band 'The Runaways' that i just heard
I like punk chicks so it sort of gets me everytime i hear it
I really like the punk chicks.
Tony Bennett singing As Time Goes By on "Ring-a-Ding" radio. It's a small, local AM station that plays old-time music from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, although they're branching into some 70s music. I suppose there aren't many Greatest Generation listeners left, but I like a lot of the WWII big band and vocalist music. Now it's Glenn Miller and In the Mood.
shareI am listening to one of my compilation cds.
Right now, Richard Thompson's 'I Feel So Good' is playing ...

I'm listening to Chris Tomlin's new album, Holy Roar.
sharei've been listen to various performances of steve reich's music for 18 musicians recently. it's my favourite piece of music, & every year or two i get re-obsessed with it.
i recently participated in a comprehensive prince album poll, and spent a good part of sept & oct wading through his discography & all the associated artists as well. i'm been a massive prince fan for decades, but i really hadn't dived deeply into his music since he died. the biggest pleasure was finding how much i genuinely liked almost everything he did, right up to the end. not to say that everything he touched was golden, but there were many albums that i'd dismissed or given a listen or two & never really revisited that i've found i really loved.
