I don't give a fuck about the left OR the right. Everyone and everything is revolving around this subject and I'm sick of it. For my sanity I propose we fill this thread with nice, non boring things.

I like movies with great stories, like this movie I watched the other night called Boy. Not a bad movie. Another one I saw was Finding Forrester and it was incredible. A really heartfelt story. Watch if you haven't seen it.

Ice cream is never boring, not even a vanilla cone.
Gummi worms are awesome, especially the sour kind.

I like when the clouds get dark and its about to rain. Rain makes me happy, sometimes I wish charlie and I lived in Ireland or Scotland. Back to our roots if you will.

Feel free to add whatever you want! I'm on my way to work. Hopefully it will be a half decent day. I've been off for two days and its always the hardest to go back into that store.

I had a chocolate cookie today that had walnuts and gooey chunks of salted caramel. Deliciously deadly!

Thank you, Darling. You would not believe the compilations I’ve made. I sell high-end custom audio (and home theater) systems. I HAVE to put together great material to demo my wares to their full potential!

One thing that bothers me is how the Motown legacy has been superceded by Hip-Hop. I’ve not heard ONE Hip-Hop singer (I am not going to use the word “artist”) with Marvin Gaye’s pipes, artistry and passion. It was called Soul Music for a reason. Today, it’s just Anger “Music,” Trivial “Music,” or both. What a disgrace to Berry Gordy’s legacy.

Why the quotation marks? The only spoken are that is musical is poetry. Shakespeare is poetry. William Butler Yeates is poetry. e e cummings is poetry. Hip-Hop
is doggeral (look it up). It has no music, but it does have a Boom-Boom beat, dimwitted lyrics and noise. Put another way: Do you EVER envision Tina Turner doing Hip-Hop? Welcome to the Rhetorical Question Bureau on

Politics are boring on a movie site, unless we're talking about the politics of a film, like Snowpiercer, or some such thing. I come here to get away from that.

Generally, I agree, LG, and I think most come here to get away from all of the political BS, which abounds more than ever, unfortunately. What sane person wouldn't want to get away from all that?

There are plenty of sites out there devoted to politics of all stripes where people can post and bash one another to their heart's content.

That said, the real problem is political figures (primarily Trump) having boards here, and more than that, them appearing on Trending, which is the first thing anyone sees when they come here, which turns many people off who just want to come here to talk and read about, ya know, movies and TV shows.

I love Trending, and think it was a great idea Jim had, and implemented. But I don't think he foresaw this.

Exactly.
I do my political thing elsewhere.
I've learned to compartmentalize. I don't want to live my life being angry and outraged all the time. It's not healthy.

I disagree. Politics are forever boring. I don't vote or even remotely care about any of it. I come here to avoid allll of it if I can. I couldn't find any thread to post on yesterday so I just made my own :)

Will you allow me to elevate your statement to “boring and intrusive” in the context of an entertainment site? Laura, I don’t just come HERE to get away from the venom. Ever since the World Trade Center attack, I actively avoid all news media, and am much happier than before. I used to be a journalist, as was my father. It was once an admirable profession, and performed a real public service. Today it is a platform for advertising and agendae. It hawks not substantive news, but shock and awe, to get ratings and sell stuff, the most precious of which is corporate/political doctrine. I will have none of it.

I agree. You can't go anywhere on the internet these days without politics shoving itself into your face, whether it be through chatboards, YouTube or the news.

Gangster movies are great to watch. I also like learning random phrases in different languages so I can go around saying them just for fun.

Agreed, Although Prime Minister's questions on a Wednesday can be a good laugh. I always watch it on the BBC if I'm off.
