Can you read a book for 8 straight hours ??
I could do three hours tops. My wife was reading a novel from 10am to 6pm. We really haven't done a bloody thing all day.

shareI could read for 8 straight hours, if I really liked the book.
shareAbsolutely not...I'd go blind🙈
shareyes
sharewhen i was younger, i absolutely could. i doubt i could do that now, and i certainly couldn't do it with most of the books that i read, which tend to be a little dense & technical. if i was going through a light, breezy novel, i suppose i might be able to.
when i was in school, i'd often study 10 hours a day on the weekends. i'd be exhausted, but i could do it. i doubt i'd have that kind of mental stamina in my middle age.
8 hours straight? No way. But I've done 8 hours of reading in a single day a few times.
shareYeah I'd say this best describes my experience as well. I would definitely need a couple breaks in there somewhere but there were a few times when I'm sure I read that much in a day.
shareSame here
The Game of Thrones novels (especially the first 3) werevery hard to put down
Many a night id lok at the clock and think 'hells bells i gotta be at work in 7 hours'
Depends on the book, but yes. My job requires reading basically for 8 hours straight. I do have breaks, but essentially it is. I wish it were novels the whole time. I would do Grisham and King and Palahniuk.
shareWhen I was a child, I'd often read books from cover to cover in a single sitting. Generally they would only take a few hours, but some of the later entries in the Harry Potter series probably took about eight hours.
Nowadays, I generally read before bed, and as such get tired after a few chapters. Though, of course the books I'm reading require more concentration than what I would read as a boy.
I started Deathly Hallows on a 5 hour flight. Seemed like the shortest 5 hours of my life.
shareDepends on the kind of book. The first time I read Jurassic Park, I settled in to read a little bit of it before going to bed, around 8 or 9 in the evening. Figured I'd read for maybe an hour, two at most and then go to sleep. Next thing I know, it's 10 the next morning and I've finished the book. Lmao. Sometimes a good book just sucks you in.
