Your favorite movie titles

Irrespective of the films themselves, what are your favorite titles?

I love the title "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre." It reads like poetry. I like the film a good deal, but I love the title.

Inglourious Basterds is pretty good too.

At the time I thought the phantom menace had a way cool sound to it...dark and mysterious...good stuff! I should have managed my expectations better😂

reply

I love that title! Hate the movie, but love the title.

reply

I'm sayin! Probably the best title for a star wars movie. And while not the worst flick in the franchise...it was the first signs that Lucas was surrounded by sycophants and the brand was to suffer due to this.

GREAT THREAD by the way!

reply

I think it's definitely the worst movie in the franchise.

reply

I can respect that👍 here comes the old fart...watch out😉

For me it was the last Jedi! I did not love Tpm...or aotc...but neither left me numb and disinterested in the movies to come. The last Jedi broke star wars for me. I have zero interest in what nine has to offer...that is a first for star wars with me. I will see nine on opening day...as I've never missed an opening since star wars was released...and I don't quit what I've started...but nine would literally have to bring me to orgasm to undo the damage done by the last Jedi.

reply

Yeah, I think I knew that about you. Be you, Feet. I can't agree with it or condone it, but I respect your conviction.

reply

Like I warned..it's the old fart in me coming out😉

The Magnificent Seven
A magnificent title indeed.

Infernal Affairs
It's internal affairs but infernal.

Inception
This title is so meme-worthy. It leads into words like carception, fishception, eggception, etc.

You win!

"The Last House on the Left"

"Fatal Attraction"

"Kill Bill"

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

The full title of that film definitely says it all.
Oh how I remember way back in elementary school those stupid drills where we had to dive under out desks to protect ourselves in an air raid drill. As if a wooden school desk could really protect us from a thermonuclear weapon.
I also like the use of the colon in the title. Afterall, how many film titles have a colon in it?

reply

Almost all movie sequels has a colon in their titles.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout
Captain America: Civil War
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
Avengers: Infinity War
Jurrasic World: Fallen Kingdom
Sicario: Day of the Soldado
etc.

Mother, May I Sleep with Danger?

reply

Ooh, that is good.

They Call Me Mister Tibbs!

What a sequel. Of course, nothing compared to the original.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly.

Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Whistle and I'll Come to You (TV movie).

Ginger Snaps. (Always makes me think of my Grannies biscuit jar which always used to be full of ginger snaps and jammie dodgers) 😋
