Chris Isaak may only have had one big hit but his body of work is long and talented. In addition to acting in films and television he is a terrific live act. You should catch a concert sometime. He has a great voice and a quick wit. He and his band never fail to put on an entertaining show!

give me another song of his

reply

I'm obviously a big fan...have seen Chris and his band about a dozen times over the years. He is incredible on stage both singing and banter. I'm sure you mean "give me another song" ..that is well known or simply good. His music can be very moody...esoteric. On his first album, Gone Driven is an excellent driving song. He is from northern California..San Franciscan Days is a perfect fit. Dabcin is a song that has been in a movie soundtrack..again, dark and moody, He was a favorite of the late director Johnathan Demme who used Chris and his music in several films. Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing also received radio play. You just hit a nerve with me about Isaak because he is much more than a one hit wonder. He has had his own television series etc. As I mentioned earlier, he has appeared in film, television and records. If you appreciate Wicked Game you would enjoy his other stuff..listen to Somebody's Crying... I dare you. Have a great weekend.

Great performer known for his warble! Also Swat team member from Silence of the Lambs and one of Phoebe's boyfriends in Friends.

reply

He also starred alongside of Bridget Fonda in The Little Buddah.

reply

Cool, very versatile guy.

reply

That was my point. he has entertained the masses(still selling out shows) from 1982 to the present. Although the OP was correct, Isaac has only had 1 chart topping hit...he is far from a "one hit wonder!"

Blue Hotel was a modest hit.

reply

I remember this vaguely. Not a bad song at all.

reply

They still play it on the radio now and again.

reply

I just remember when 'Wicked Game' came out that he was supposed to be the next big thing - he had the voice and the looks. It never seemed to work out for him.

reply

He's kind of a weird guy.

reply

How is he weird? He's kind of an all american type. He has never done drugs, he's a surfer, has an incredible sense of humor. When you see Chris and his band the Silvertones(who have been together about 30 years) live, the banter between themselves and the audience is as entertaining as the music. Just an overall talented guy. I have never heard one word about any scandal. Check out his interviews on Youtube. he is clever and articulate.

reply

You never saw the way he came on to Cameron Diaz at the MTV Movie awards? Or how about how he talks about his dead high school girlfriend and no woman having been able to measure up to her? I don't know, it seems like he's trying too hard. I can't help but wonder if maybe he's closeted. Or perhaps he has had one beer to many when he acts like that.🍻

reply

I don't know any in or out of the closet stories. Your theory may be accurate. If you take a look at the host of live interviews with Chris and female interviewers they all melt. He has a reputation as a womanizer. All I know is that on the surface all is well. I would joke with my wife that if I could be anybody I would choose Chris Isaak. He can sing, he's wicked funny(usually someone with his looks are bereft of personality and humor) he's good looking, women love him and he's popular enough. He still lives in the bay area of SF. He's a fortunate man. As I said, I have seen Chris and the Silvertones about 15 times and they always put on a good show,,,especially getting the audience(females)involved. I have been trying for an hour to attach a Youtube video exhibiting his skills but I'm a fossil and can't figure it out. TY.

reply

I've got nothing against the guy. He seems nice with a sense of humour. But sometimes he also seems a little weird and I wonder if that has gotten in the way of his career at times. Maybe he prefers to do his own quirky thing instead of what appeals commercially.

And BEFORE the address: [url]

I appreciate your input and help. I will have my daughter assist. I did try the before and after url's. TY

"give me another song of his"

Well since you asked, I give you my favorite song by Chris Isaak ...
We Let Her Down - https://youtu.be/3kZWqUYTi9A

It may not have been a big hit in the pop music world, but it is nonetheless a great song.

reply

Great song. I know I am repeating myself but he is also clever with his audience reparte live.

reply

Actually he had other hits...

Two Hearts
Return to me

reply

Good song.

If you cover up his nose and mouth, the rest of him looks like Elvis in that shot.

reply

Agreed.

reply

I do see the resemblance.

Daddyo -
You left out part of the addy!
Here, I'll change it ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwfko1OC2F0

You can also do a shorter version -- https://youtu.be/Mwfko1OC2F0

The shorter version came about because it was impossible to text an original YouTube addy since there is no = character on phone keyboards. Thus they eliminated the problem with the shorter version. Plus, it saves characters, which is useful given the 160 character limit per text.

Please note that it's important to make sure that you type in the correct character. Often times a capital O is confused with the number 0. When you typed in the Chris Isaak addy you wanted to link to, you mistakenly typed the number 0 after the 1 instead of a capital O. You were correct however with the last character in the addy. It is the number 0.

The problem is even worse with a capital I and the lower case l (L). I have no problem seeing the difference between the two letters with the font that MovieChat uses, but with the font that is shown in YouTube's addys, it's very hard to tell the difference between the two. But for the record, in a YouTube addy, a capital I looks a little thicker than a lower case l.

It's a miracle!! OMG you did it!! Thank you ...much appreciated.
