"What are we going to do about Christmas"

Actual words uttered to me by Mr. Dazed earlier this week!
I mean ffs man it's September, I'm still hoping for more summer.

It's too late now though because it's already planted tiny seeds of anxiety and panic into my head.

SHIT!!! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO ABOUT CHRISTMAS????

reply

Now is the time to stock up on selection boxes to last until next Easter, do not hesitate 👌

reply

I'm just not ready DB.
It was only Christmas a few weeks ago wasn't it?

reply

I am never ready for winter and summer always goes by too fast. Jesus Christ I am getting old! I'll be 30 in January, I am dreading it SO MUCH!!!

reply

30 is ancient!!!
Seriously life accelerates once you are 30, next year you'll be thinking "Christ, I'm 45 what happened?"

reply

I was thinking that 2years ago...felt like yesterday😤

reply

Me neither, seems like it. Another year flew by.

Nods.
Call off Christmas and definitely cancel the kitchen scraps for the lepers and orphans.
But I propose an extra birthday, one every six months.

reply

Bah! HumBug!!!

I can't believe I just said that! Please don't remind me of that in December!

My grandmother has Mr. Dazed beat by a month. She lives a few hours away from me so I never get to see her but we talk often. I called her around August and she was talking to my little one and I heard my daughter say...I haven't thought what I want for Christmas. Its still 100 degrees outside, everyone is headed to the beach or kayaking and you are wondering about what to do about Christmas. What to get? How much money to send each grandkid? I suppose she gets excited.

reply

I think it's just different with older people. If you have a lot of people you buy for, Christmas is something you set money aside for most of the year. People actually start buying gifts for the next year, the day after Christmas when they hit all of the sales.
I tend to buy Christmas gifts all year round. If I happen to see something that I think someone will like or want, I will get it in July. By the time Christmas rolls around, I can enjoy the good things about the Holiday instead of tearing my hair out, wondering what to get this one or that one. The best part is that the spending is done. I can have fun.

reply

I'm not at all ready for Christmas!!

reply

I think of Christmas on December 1.

A study conducted by the retail
industry three years ago found that most Americans have their Holiday shopping done before the end of October; and far fewer folks than ever are going into stores, and a great many who go into a store are only going to Customer Service to pick up items they bought online.
