I always thought she was a bit of an idiot

This is not fair...This is not fair.

You are a thief! You are a thief! You owe me an apology! You owe me an apology! You owe me an apology! You owe me an apology! You owe me an apology! When am I going to get my apology?

😎

reply

Yeah, that's where I thought SW lost it. I understand she was upset, and I sympathize, but she went too far. Even if he was wrong in his judgement, it's his job to make a ruling if he feels it's in the best interest of the game (and I emphasize he may have been wrong), but for her to demand an apology like that was not a good look. I'm Serena, you're a thief, you owe me an apology ! OK, queenie.

reply

This is not fair for Naomi Osaka.

reply

WOW!
She really made an ass of herself:(
Im glad the kid won

reply

I will say that she feels Men get away with poor behavior while she got penalized, but she took the whole thing too far, even to what she said after the match. Suddenly she's waving the Feminist Banner?
And during the match she should have understood continuing to lose her cool would just dig herself a deeper hole.
She's been playing for too long to be so emotional and dramatic.

reply

It really was odd behavior
Shes a Titan of the sport and acted like a 12 year old
And i also didnt care for her gender arguement...everyday women get enough crap and feminism is important...A millionaire athlete icon would do well to not water feminism down

Oh well...everybody loses it once in awhile
Except for me, im perfect😁

reply

No she doesn't feel that way. She tricked you. You didn't notice that while she was complaining about sexism, she was threatening that poor referee with blacklisting. This is class warfare. She never lost sight if which side really had the privlidge, only you did.

A liberal is someone who is happy to look the other way while the queen beheads people.

reply

From what I've seen here and elsewhere, you are simply belligerent with a very warped and biased world view, a rabid animal not to engage with. Fulminate all you want, but don't expect anyone with intelligence to take your bait.

reply

I am too, and I'm glad they hit that fat, obnoxious, egotistical bitch with $17,000 in fines. If I had been in charge, I would have fined her the maximum $60,000. She is a DISGRACE to tennis and to sports! The one commentator said he had never seen anything like it in tennis, and I agree. I think she should be banned for a period of time.

😎

reply

Shirley you jest.

reply

I've never been a fan of her. She seemed to have mellowed down for a while, but she's back to her typical behavior.

reply

Seems to me she was losing and just wanted to blame the umpire.

reply

BINGO! Nailed it, hownos!!

😎

reply

I never have either. She's a whiny, obnoxious, egotistical ass with an exaggerated sense of entitlement! And she played the woman card, and the victim card. People who do that are losers!

😎

reply

The crowd were just as disgusting. The fact that the Japanese girl broke down in tears and apologized for winning her first ever grand slam is outrageous!

reply

Everyone wants to refer to Naomi Osaka as "Japanese." Her father is Haitian, she moved to the USA at age three and does not speak fluent Japanese. She does have dual citizenship, but I'm getting the message she's as American as any other kid who grew up in Florida or wherever in the USA. She may represent Japan as a professional for practical reasons (a better chance at competing in certain tourneys), but when I look and listen to her, I don't think, "oh, she's Japanese."

reply

AMEN! I couldn't believe those assholes were CHEERING her for her DISGRACEFUL behavior!

😎

reply

immature brat if you ask me.
absolutely pitiful that she can act that way.
I've only watched a few minutes of tennis but it always seemed like a fancy, classier sport. i'd never have anything else to do with her.

reply

She's a human being with faults. She had a child not long ago, maybe her hormones are out of whack. She and her sister overcame a very average upbringing - Straight Outta Compton - playing on public courts, an overbearing father, and broke ground, created history. Serena may be the greatest female tennis player ever, and she had a bad day.
I've never liked SW much, I think Venus is prettier (whatever that's worth), but I don't think it's right for everyone to dog pile on her for having a bad day. People like McEnroe and Connors were notoriously ill behaved, and that's one of Serena's points, It's a double standard. She feels she was treated harshly when a man would have been given more leeway. I agree she acted immature and I did not enjoy watching it, but people are so quick to condemn someone for speaking out rather than meekly accepting what seems like injustice.

reply

I remember Conors and McEnroe behaving that way and I don't think they were given a particularly easy time.

reply

I think its more than just a 'bad day'. I won't tell you exactly how I feel about the whole thing because I'll be labeled sexist/racist but I believe she acted this way to prove that she could. She was allowed to act the way she did, Nike got more clicks on the awful Colin ad and every woman is justified again because they have a pussy.

I don't believe that women are treated wrong these days. Women have so much power in the world, too much if you ask me.

She knew what she was doing.

reply

Amen! Tennis USED to be a classier sport, but arrogant, whiny, obnoxious, egotistical assholes like SW have brought the sport down to the gutter.

😎

reply

Is Facebook/YouTube/twitter going to ban her for harassment? Is Nike going to drop sponsorship? Why do we allow a person like that to be part of our community?

reply

I have no clue. But truth be told, she's probably going to to get away with this DISGRACEFUL behavior because she's black, and she's a woman. People are afraid to be called racists and misogynists if they come down hard on her. I would have fined her the maximum $60,000, and would also BAN her from tennis for a period of time.

reply

I get the feeling you are intentionally going to the extreme simply for the fun of it.
That's kinda funny if people get it.

reply

She just couldn’t leave it alone
Plus the incident tainted the win for Naomi who idolized Serena
Sad

reply

No it didn't taint the win. That's just your assertion. Anyone who watched the match or listens to intelligent sports commentary knows Naomi had the match very well in hand and Serena would have had to make a furious comeback.
Yes, the incident was regrettable, but I'll not condemn Serena nor discount Naomi for the victory.

reply

We'll never know.
I've seen Serena comeback dozens of times in the second set to win matches.
You'll have to ask Naomi if it was a clear clean victory

reply

Here's Naomi Osaka assertion from the Today Show :

"“I just felt like everyone was sort of unhappy up there. I know that the ending wasn’t how people wanted it to be,” she said. “I know that in my dreams I won a very tough, competitive match, and I just felt really emotional.”

reply

Well, I will walk back the idea that the win for Naomi was not tainted. It certainly wasn't as fun as it should have been, and the SW antics subtracted from Osaka's victory. So sad Naomi was crying while accepting her trophy. But time will show she earned it fair-and-square, and I wish her continued success.

reply

That is sad. That win will definitely feel like something she'd rather forget I'd imagine.
Hopefully Williams will apologise when she has calmed down.

reply

Don't hold your breath waiting for an apology from that arrogant, whiny, obnoxious, egotistical bitch!

😎

reply

She's a loud, obnoxious, whiny, egotistical, narcissistic bitch with a very exaggerated sense of entitlement. And she played the woman card AND the victim card!

The referee handled it with grace and dignity, two qualities which Serena obviously lacks. I'm really glad Osaka kicked her big fat ass! I'm also glad that they hit the bitch with $17,000 in fines. If I were running the show, I would have given her the maximum $60,000 fine. She is a DISGRACE to tennis and to sports.
