What do miss about going to the local video stores?

I will admit, but I miss arguing with the clerk that I did not brought in the previous rental tape a few days later...Just to avoid late fees...And that was his fault of not scanning it properly on that particular day.

The only video store in my area (Five Star Video) closed last month. Since I don't have Netflicks I used to find videos I couldn't get anywhere else, especially classics. They are closing all over.

As part of my efforts to snag the latest film, I miss accosting patrons as they entered the store to return THAT newest movie.

Movies used to matter.

I miss the judgmental eyerolls of teenage employees as you handed over your choices. No joke - it was such an easy way to get an honest opinion on what was assumed cool without any verbal exchange.

The strange smell of soap mixed with popcorn & looking at the artwork on the covers and screenshots on back of all the horrors I wasn't allowed to rent. Until it was taken over by a lady that let us rent anything. Turns out most of the films were better in my head from the limited info. on the covers than they were when I finally watched them.

Just going there. ;-)
