PG-13 movies need to go away, here’s why...

Over the past 15 years we’ve seen movies slowly get watered down (less violence, less nudity, less vulgar language) and all because studios are super greedy and want money from teenagers.

Here’s the solution, get rid of the PG-13 rating and instead only offer a PG rating or an ‘R’ rating.

This will force studios to add more violence, more nudity, and more filthy language in order to get an ‘R’ rating.

If they’re unwilling to do this then they are forced to go with a PG rating which must be aimed at the family audience.

You're certainly making a splash here, garnering a lot of attention. If it's acknowledgement you seek, all the posters here are easy to accommodate. It's easy to make assumptions about someone you don't know though cannot help but wonder if they're trying to get noticed.

My new Fall schedule is wacky and physically exhausting. My appearances here may become sporadic but am more than happy with settling on being a weekend warrior. You're a trooper, Shogie, helping pick people up when they're down.

If that idea was implemented, movie studios would just encourage youth to lie about their age at theater showings like they did in the ancient past of 1997, in order to drive up word-of-mouth. Starship Troopers comes to mind.

Okay then lower the R rating required age to 13 years old. Most boys begin masturbating at that age anyways so the studios will make more money and we can get more violence and nudity...it’s a win-win for everyone.

Too many people rely on the ratings to determine what's safe for their children, even when doing a thorough enough job of monitoring their children's content. The Motion Picture Association of America needs to be held to higher standards and not hold so much clout over major film studious, deciding what passes for suitable entertainment and what doesn't without viable research on their part.

They’re going to have to back up
their lies with a government photo ID, and that’s not an inconsiderable barrier. “Take my word for it” won’t work.

Until the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) starts employing child psychologists to examine and provide feedback pertaining to content catering to minors like in Great Britain, they will continue to exploit every conceivable marketing ploy at their disposal.

Can a 12 year old see a PG-13 movie with their parents?

Can a 13 year old see it by themselves?

How does all of this work?

No you have to be 13 to get into the movie regardless of who you’re with. But here’s the kicker....we just have to take the word of the person that they are 13. If an 8 year old wants to see an R rated movie then he should be able to do so, that makes sense to me.

The government would never go along with giving a 13 year old an ID so movie theaters would just have to take their word for it I’m afraid lol.

If the kids at the border need to have ID then I think that all kids should have an ID.

It's what keeps illegals out of the country and would be exploited by talented youngster immigrants to sneak their way into schools and hospitals.

The threat is very real!
