Best movie intros

Not necessarily a movie you're a great fan of, but with an intro that sets up the tone and atmosphere perfectly, maybe introducing main characters. An intro which makes you want to immerse yourself in the movie's universe.

My choice is The Goonies. Not my favourite movie by a long shot but I find the intro perfect, containing all the elements mentioned above, and what a soundtrack!

You know what mine is 😉

It features Le Nozze with a video backdrop as yet unmatched in cinema.

I know every Christmas you catch up on my favourite movie Spanners.

They are both set around that period and so it makes sense you'd love it as much as you do.

It's a slight shame that my favourite bears the test of time while yours seems to seem lacklustre at release.

2001: A Space Odyssey, hands down! The best intro of all time to the best film of all time by the best director of all time.

The marijuana goes in the top drawer. The cocaine and speed go in the second drawer. And the heroin goes in the bottom drawer. Always separate the drugs.
