Anything. Ok, gonna take this opportunity then to give a shout out to a member here I've gained a lot of respect for during the past year : Shogun !

We locked horns briefly in the past, some of which I think was due to us being very much alike. But since that got settled, we've had a lot of fun together. Recently, a troll on a rival site was masquerading as me. Another member on here was all too eager to convince him it really was me. He was very briefly blindsided, then adamantly refused to believe it. I haven't encountered that kind of loyalty in a long time, especially from someone who is still basically a stranger. It moved me and still means a lot. So, to sum it up in the vernacular of the older generation, he's "a stand-up guy, the kind I'd like to be in a foxhole with!"

We've only just begun to live
White lace and promises
A kiss for luck and we're on our way
(We've only begun)
Before the risin' sun, we fly
So many roads to choose
We'll start out walkin' and learn to run
(And yes, we've just begun)
Sharing horizons that are new to us
Watching the signs along the way
Talkin' it over, just the two of us
Workin' together day to day
Together
And when the evening comes, we smile
So much of life ahead
We'll find a place where there's room to grow
(And yes, we've just begun)
Sharing horizons that are new to us
Watching the signs along the way
Talkin' it over, just the two of us
Workin' together day to day
Together
Together
And when the evening comes, we smile
So much of life ahead
We'll find a place where there's room to grow
And yes, we've just begun

Never appreciated her voice until this most recent Christmas. We have a satellite radio channel that plays holiday music. My god that woman had a mesmerizing voice! Such a shame she had such an unhappy short life.

I may not always love you
But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I'd be without you
If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would livin' do me
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
If you should ever leave me
Though life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good would livin' do me
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you

Our state fair begins this Thursday. 😭 And runs through Labor Day. 😭

Why 😭 ? Because it means summer is ending. 😭

reply

The Toronto CNE is ongoing to Labor Day. We may go this coming weekend.

reply

Okay, I'll bite. What's the CNE?

reply

Canadian National Exhibition - just a fancy name for the annual fair.

reply

Got it. Our state fair advertises itself as the Great Minnesota Get-Together. Outside of the year I helped my mom at the milk booth at the fair, I've gone as regular attendee exactly twice. Needless to say, I'm not a fair person.

reply

This is considered the granddaddy of all the fairs in Ontario. I see the same carnies year after year.

reply

What are popular fair dishes in Canada? We have corn dogs, ears of corn, steak on a stick, deep fried cheeses, dumbo ears, funnel cake, pig roast...much the same in Canada?

reply

check out this Golden Burger

reply

I think every food at our fair is either deep-fried, on a stick, or both.

reply

Wisconsin or Minnesota? One of those two right?

reply

Yep, MN.

reply

I thought so👍 fried food on a stick is the bestest👍
