How The Classic Network News Anchors Signed Off

Walter Cronkite, voted the Most Trusted (hu)Man in America, signed off his broadcast of the CBS Evening News with, “And that’s the way it is, [day of week, date of month, date of year].”
David Brinkley, his counterpart, albeit always in Cronkite’s shadow, signed off with, “Courage.” Both of these are high-class and professional. I have refused to be exposed to
any news in any format since the World Trade Center collapse. My guess is that no newscaster, anywhere, is living up to these standards. What do you think?

Not from what I've seen.
They all try to come up with cutesy thing but from I've seen they fail.

I'll take "Good night and good luck" any day of the week.

" For my colleagues and for myself, I thank you, I bid you goodnight." Clete Roberts

That's just my opinion of course.
"And now you know -- the rest of the story."
