Why hasn't Jesus come back yet?

It's been two thousand years. What's he waiting for? People in the 5th century thought his return was just around the corner. It wasn't. People in the 12th century thought it was just around the corner. It wasn't. People today think it's just around the corner .... Christians keep going to Church. They keep telling Jesus how they love him. They keep telling the rest of us to live a certain way ... or else. They've been doing this for two thousand years ... and still no Jesus. If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, every time expecting the outcome to be the opposite of what it ultimately turns out to be, then Christians have got to be the best examples of insanity on this planet there is.

He was here this Easter. We had a splendid gaming night, but he sucks on tomb raider😒

reply

Honestly, did you expect for Jesus to beat you in Tomb Raider, really??

His father, almighty God (Jehovah, Allah, Morgan Freeman) lost to a man in a wrestling match.

reply

No it was a co-op mission.

reply

that was me - you were drunk croft

reply

God does work in mysterious ways after all.

reply

No, I think that was that potent stuff he drinks which is similar to absinthe.

reply

So, that's where all the communion wine went.

reply

As usual

reply

He's back! Jesus is in the Brazil team at the World Cup if you haven't noticed.

reply

He's probably busy.

reply

He did, but they just killed him quickly and quietly with no hubbub this time.

reply

If he did come back, would anyone believe him? There are at least 10 guys claiming to be him _right_ now.

reply

Only the magic act would convince these says.

reply

Is there any actual proof that someone called Jesus actually existed? I don't think so. If Christians want to believe it that's their business. Frankly, I don't give a damn.

reply

I posted this earlier, but I’ll repeat it.

Jesus was a real person. Historians and archeologists agree on that. For two examples, here are articles from National Geographic and Smithsonian, neither a religious publication. https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2017/12/jesus-tomb-archaeology/, https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/unearthing-world-jesus-180957515/.
While historians agree that he existed, they often disagree with believers on who he was. David Koresh and Baghwann Rajneesh both claimed to be gods. I don’t think they were, and I think both had mental problems. But it would be absurd for me to say that they are fictional characters.

reply

The National Geographic and the Smithsonian are proof???? Seriously?? BTW the websites are not available. Whatever. I'll stick with my own consensus.

reply

Some people have cast doubt on the authenticity of the two historical mentions of Jesus outside of the Bible, namely by Josephus and Tacitus. They claim that these mentions were much later additions to the original texts.

reply

Where did J & T mention Jesus?

reply

OK, so I guess my real question is whether he claimed to be a god. And in everything I researched the answer was "no". So I'll accept that.
