Lets chat about our favorite genres, offer a fine example or two of each and share ideas about the things we want our fellow chatters to see and hopefully enjoy too:)
Me first!
I love...

Horror- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a lovely masterpiece that still disturbs and leaves one thinking they have seen a bloodbath when in fact there is very little blood in the film!
Masterpiece (several actors were disturbed and or harmed during filming)

Sci Fi- The Empire Strikes Back
This one had thrills, great FX, a sweet romantic angle and an awesome climactic lightsaber fight between the baddest dude in the universe VS a brave young pup who just wasnt ready but left it all on the floor anyway
Plus Han Solo...c'mon, total winner of a Sci Fi adventure

Action- First Blood is the rousing action tale of a government trained baddass trying to adjust to his new, peaceful life but society and the law wont stop pushing him
He makes a whole damn town regret that ingratitude
One of Sly's best movies and up there with the TOP actioners of all time

Jeepers Creepers is a good one. It was definitely somewhat different when it first arrived on the scene. Rewatched it recently for the umpteenth time, just for simple, pure, entertainment value.

MY MOM AND I SAW THAT AT THE THEATER...IT WAS PRETTY DAMN AWESOME...TOO BAD ABOUT THAT SILVA GUY AND THE BULLSHIT REPUTATION HIS FILMS ALL CARRY NOW....I TRIED TO WATCH THE SEQUEL BUT IT WAS A FIRST DATE AND WE ENDED UP HAVING SEX INSTEAD...NEVER CAME BACK TO IT.

I was sorting my imdb rated movies by genre, but I tried to pick movies that really were in that genre. You know some movies are called horror but they really aren't.

The sequel is pretty good, imo. Everything after that, just seemed to kind of deteriorate.

I always try to pick movies that I would watch at the moment the question was asked. So I could watch this lineup tonight and be happy.

Excellent list!

The New York Ripper is worth mentioning, though. My favorite Fulci movie.

It’s one of his best, and most sadistic in my opinion also. Fulci was an interesting director with a great filmography. I don’t think he knew how appreciated his works were in his lifetime.

But yeah, we could make a list twice as long as my original and I’m sure they would all be top notch films. If you have any others to add, from any Italian directors, please do.

I don’t think I’ve seen Nightmare or Macabre so I’ll be looking them up. Thats some nice collection pieces right there!!
