Who is your favorite actor ever ?

mine is Denzel Washington :)

reply

No favorite actor here

reply

Not even Milla Jovovich? Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?

reply

If he would've said actress then yes my favorites are Milla Jovovich and Camilla Ludingdon, but he said "actors" instead

reply

Nowadays the word "actor" can refer to either gender Croft.

reply

It's 2018. "Actor" is gender neutral.

reply

I still live in the past with some issues, but thanks😊

Gary Oldman

Nice choice.

3 way tie - George C Scott/Robert De Niro/Michael Douglas

reply

I haven't seen him in many things but George C Scott is fantastic in The Exorcist III

reply

Yep he was good in that one, Exorcist III is a great film it needs more appreciation.

reply

George C Scott almost steals the show from Sellers in Dr Strangelove. No mean feat!

reply

Agreed he was on top form there, plus the unscripted falling over in the war room and he just leaps up and continued as If nothing happened. 👍

reply

Lol! Classic

Good choice.

I think Kurt Russell is a very underrated actor. He began as a child star and since then has turned out many outstanding performances from comedy to drama. Great choice!

reply

Gregory Peck

He was great as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, which I believe is the best film ever made.

He was also very good in films like, Twelve O'Clock High, Captain Horatio Hornblower, The Guns of Navarone, Arabesque, Moby Dick and The Boys From Brazil, to name a few.

Why do you believe that, Kid?

reply

Because all the facets of filmmaking came together perfectly.
First, there was a powerful story in Harper Lee's novel which was adapted into an excellent screenplay.
The directing was top notch.
The acting was superb by everyone involved -- the lead, supporting, and especially the children.
The cinematography was excellent. Some object to the fact that it was a B&W film, but I believe that that only adds to making it a more perfect period piece.
The editing was excellent as well.
Finally, the score was extremely moving. It hit all the right notes -- it was light when it was supposed to be and tension-building when it had to be.

reply

I'd say that To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the best films ever made. I'd say that it belongs up there in the top ten.
As for Gregory Peck, I have heard that Harper Lee was blown away by Gregory Peck. She said that he reminded her so much of her father.
I understand that the movie was Peck's favorite of all of the films he ever appeared in.

A tie between Peter Cushing and Donald Pleasance.

reply

I don't generally keep at just one. I like Gene Hackman, Arnold and Sly. Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, Lee Marvin, Bruce Lee, James Stewart, the DUKE!, Clint Eastwood of course..so on and so forth. It just depends on the time frame and what I am in a mood for. Hell I suppose I admire how William Shatner has stayed relevant well into his 80s.

reply

Nice to see so much love for Peter Cushing in this thread.

reply

I do enjoy me some Hammer films and Amicus. He and Christopher Lee often brought a lot of class to a film, even it if had a silly premise. I even enjoyed his appearance in Top Secret!

reply

Me too, I particularly enjoy those Amicus anthologies, I wish there were more.
I've just rewatched The Ghoul too after first seeing it decades ago on tv, almost impossible to get on dvd.
Did you see any of the Hammer House of Horror tv series? Children of the Full Moon, Charlie Boy etc?

reply

No I have not but would love to check it out. Apparently it’s available on shudder but I already used up my free previews.

reply

I had Shudder for the free preview but couldn't honestly find enough to watch.

reply

Same problem. I can’t validate paying for what few things I found on there.

reply

Sir Anthony Hopkins
