My phone is becoming a foul-mouthed monster

While I was texting a friend about a trailer, my phone "corrected" the word shot into shit.

Then when I was typing out a message chuckling about how it did that, it AGAIN corrected shot into shit!

reply

😄LOL
This is why i shut off auto correct a long time ago Pal
Auto Correct is a pest

Unfortunately it turns out im prone to typos without assistance...no winning, huh?

Oh btw, is it a Camping or a Hauling trailer thats shot (or shit for that matter)

reply

Actually I was talking about the first shot in the the trailer for The Predator!

The Halloween scene reminded me of E.T. immediately, looked just like it.

reply

Jeez...i should have known that!
Duh

I was hoping for some tool/toy talk here LOL😂
Seems i cant get anything right Amigo!!

reply

I'd actually had in mind for a while now to make a topic seeing if there were any gear heads around here, mostly to see who else might be familiar with Liberty Walk customs from Japan.

But I've talked cars here before and it died pretty quickly, so I figure they're not much of a subject for this board.

I don't know much about trailers, but those vintage teardrop-style ones are always eye-catching.

reply

Im not a gearhead as i lack that awesome skill but i just love tools and project talking

I also want a travel trailer in the worst way
Neighbor just got one
Its SO cool and spacious

reply

If it's an iPhone then i'm not surprised

reply

Samsung... Or maybe Samsatan

reply

Figures😒

reply

why didn't just write shit and maybe it would have corrected it to shot

reply

Must have been made by the same company that made mine.

reply

You should not be so quick to reveal what your phone does, it only goes by what it has remembered that you typed in the past! ;-)

reply

Yeah... so true. For example, I just sent a text with SNAP in all caps like that, and autocorrect had recommendations for it... The second one was ANAL.

Yes it definitely learned that one from me. Maybe it's time to wipe out the dictionary again. What I'd like to be able to do is freeze the dictionary to prevent it from learning new words, but I never saw that option.

LOL, Too late, Google, You-Tube, Facebook, Palantir, and all the other already know you better than you know yourself.

What kind of computer do you have and where are you trying to freeze. There are different levels, but browsers have a setting for it ... turn off predictive typing, something like that, as do phones.

reply

I have a Samsung S8. If you click on the word while it is still underlined, it was add it to your dictionary and auto correct won't mess with it.

reply

Do you know if there is a way to disable learning? I want to keep autocorrect on. I've reset the dictionary before but I'd like it to remain at default.

reply

Not sure. Probably though. Check out AndroidForums. They are usually quick to help over there. Just do a search before you post a question.
