The Hobbit movies could not have been any better

The secret of good trolling is to come up with outrageous statements that sound... possible. Like some nutball somewhere might actually, seriously, believe the goofy statement you just made.

Nobody could POSSIBLY believe that those stupid Hobbit movies couldn't have been better!

I think that makes the end result even more disappointing, we know what he and his team can do and he didn't do it. I don't think its impossible for someone else to have done it better, but he was in the strongest position to do it best. While I didn't hate the films they were a let down from the prior Trilogy. They should not have stretched a small book so far, a single long film would have been sufficient.

I particularly enjoyed ninja Legolas, and the convincing dwarf/elf romance moved me to tears! Also, I was glad to see the dwarves kicking Smaug's backside with the giant gold statue! Tolkien would approve! 👍👍👍

Awesome comments! There is so much negative feedback on here for movies, especially high grossing high budget movies. You had an honest opinion, and you backed it up. Respect!

It could have been made better, IMBO, by omitting the third superfluous part. The story of "There and Back Again" was told fully in the first two installments.

So apparently last year Christopher Tolkien retired from the Tolkien Estate. Now Amazon has the rights to a TV series set between the Hobbit and LotR, and bets are open on rights for the Silmarillion. I find this somewhat troubling.
