Your favorite Comedic performers?

Leslie Nielsen...he spent half of his career playing it straight in scores of decent movies but he shined as a bumbling dope in The Naked Gun and Airplane movies...God do i miss this legend!

Madeline Khan...she was wonderful and hilarious in The Mel Brooks films and Clue, among others...
She left us too young but she always made me snort with laughter!

Do you have a favorite funny movie man or goofy gal?

reply

Even though Jerry Lewis was capable of inflicting great cruelty right along his life span he hit it with a trip hammer in "The Nutty Professor."

His machinations during Les Brown's "Leapfrog" is a direct hit.

reply

Wilder was tops!
Chevie in the Vacations and Eddie in nearly everything too

reply

Eddie in nearly everything?...are you sure?

The last thing that he did that I was able to enjoy in some way was Another 48 Hours (1990)

reply

Robin Williams
Carol Burnett
Dave Allen
Jerry Stiller

reply

I loved Williams
He had a real acting range in certain roles (Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam) and could be a zany lunatic other times (Mrs Doubtfire, Mork and Mindy)

He was a great comedian...

Loved Carol Burnett...i still think of her when i tug my ear lol
Nervous habit😆

reply

I think of her whenever I watch Gone With the Wind!

reply

No foreign actors

reply

Jim Carrey
Jerry Stiller
The Ricky Gervais show

reply

Carrey is excellent

I was a bit concerned when he attempted the transition from goofy faced guy to more dramatic stuff but he certainly stuck the landing!

He is always enjoyable

reply

His early comedic stuff was the best. The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, Ace...

I also find he definitely has the chops for serious acting. He is a 6 time nominated 2 time golden globe winner. Only guy I think who could play Andy Kaufman

reply

Yes,Stiller hit it continuously in the "King of Queens."

+ I could never see it when he & wife (Meara) were working in the '60's and on, but, those two together OR apart on [KoQ] were very special. It was just perfection.

reply

Yes. I loved King of Queens because of Jerry and hot Leah. They both made it watchable.

reply

Yes, it was great! It reminded me a lot of the 1950s show The Honeymooners.

reply

I believe they have even done several mentions and spoofs of the Honeymooners

reply

Marx with Dumont playin' it naturally straight was unsurpassed.

reply

Gleason in the (39) set the mark.

He's in that television show contest to name musical writers. "Swanee River" is queried. Of course "Norton" has been using that all week as his prelude to every gd song he plays in prep for "Ralph."

Bless his heart, "Ralph" answers with a straight face: "Ed Norton." LMAO!!!

reply

Gleason was great
I gotta rewatch those shows
