What do you call your significant other?

If you have one. What do they call you? I don't like being called "honey." It's a classic but it's too dainty for my tastes. Me and mine often call each other "you" or "sexy" or occasionally "love." My favorite to use is "Mister Frisky" but it's sort of situationally dependent. I'm kind of looking for one to settle on. My parents call each other "chum," and I like it, but I try to take as few cues from them as possible.

Usually 'Babe' but 'sweety' and 'honey' are pretty common too

Sometimes 'pain in the ass' if shes not around...but rarely

reply

Oh yeah, Babe, that's a good'n

reply

I don't like "babe." That's what "Rhoda" called "Joe" in "Rhoda." & I did not like "Rhoda" or "Rhoda."

reply

Rhoda wasn't my favorite either, but I stand by "Babe"

reply

Skitter, or cat. She's a cat. Sometimes I just call her "What?" when she keeps asking me for something that I can't understand.

reply

I like Skitter. Even for a human that could work

reply

Here is an older photo of her, although she looks basically the same: https://www.flickr.com/photos/johnferenz/7266376382/

reply

That is one hip cat.

reply

She chills out to jazz and catnip.

reply

Love it! 😻

reply

🎶You may say im a Skitter
But im not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the the world can play with yarn✊🏼🎤😮

I have a nephew whose name is Skeeter. As in, his given name.

reply

Like the character on Doug, don't know if that was his given name though

reply

My sister was a bit of a flake. Not sure why she didn't give him a "normal" name and use Skeeter as a nickname. The girls name she had picked out was Coco Therese.

(I've never seen Doug.)

reply

An Animated Nickelodeon show from the 90s. Pretty good and Doug's best friend was Skeeter, his love interest was Patty Mayonnaise

reply

Ah, now I remember it. I think my children watched it occasionally.

reply

Yeah I'm a youngster

reply

And obviously, I'm an oldster. 😁

reply

Experienced, say, cultured even 😁

reply

Was it you who we chatted about Florence? I think I figured out you had a bit more life experience than me in that conversation. We'll always have Florence.

reply

Sorry, it wasn't me, but it sounds like an interesting topic.

reply

Sorry it was Dazed. He/she doesn't seem to be very fond of me lately.

reply

"Honeybun."

reply

I love it. Thanks for accepting my apology, Cub. I don't want enemies either and you've proven yourself reasonable.

reply

- "Matzel, matzel, good things."

- Alec Baldwin - "Along Came Polly"

reply

Alice,stop calling me Alice

reply

Sweetie pie...just like the stone alliance😉
Also Tatey...but that one is a secret😳

reply

Every girl name I can think of that's not hers or "pumpkin tits"

reply

Surely you can fix the garage door, so I told her, don't call me Shirley

reply

This is old fashioned but there's always "Darling" or "Dear". There's also the British slang "Ducky" which means the same thing. Don't forget "sweet baboo" from 'Charlie Brown'.

reply

honeybunny
